My Story

David is an artist and experienced art educator based in London. After graduating in Graphic Design in the 1980s, he enjoyed a varied and creative early career, including window display work at Selfridges, selling and sourcing art books for Waterstones, and freelancing in illustration and photography.

He later moved into teaching, spending many years in five London schools and serving as Head of Art at Francis Holland School, Sloane Square, for 23 years. His teaching has focused primarily on GCSE and A Level, giving him a deep and current understanding of exam board expectations.

Now retired from school teaching, David is dedicating more time to his own creative work while offering private tuition. He is also passionate about the calming and restorative qualities of art, and since 2021 has been running creative sessions for adults. He is currently working with the Holistic Collab. While not an art therapist, he is interested in the positive impact creativity can have on wellbeing.
