There are some places that naturally encourage you to slow down, breathe deeply and reconnect with yourself. Loudwater Farm in Hertfordshire is one of those places. Set within beautiful green countryside alongside a gently flowing river, it provided the perfect setting for a day of restoration, creativity and mindfulness.

I was delighted to collaborate with a wonderful group of practitioners to deliver a holistic retreat designed to nurture both body and mind. Throughout the day, participants experienced a carefully curated programme of art, qigong, meditation and a deeply relaxing sound bath, creating space to unwind and reconnect with the present moment.

My contribution was a mindful art session, inviting participants to explore creativity without expectation or judgement. Using artistic materials, the focus was not on producing a finished piece of artwork, but on embracing the calming process of making. Through colour and simple creative exercises, participants were encouraged to slow down, become immersed in the moment and experience the restorative qualities of mindful art.

Set against the peaceful backdrop of Loudwater Farm, the combination of creativity, movement, meditation and sound offered participants a gentle reminder of the importance of making time for wellbeing, reflection and self-care.
